Vendor selection & implementation
Role
Project Manager
• Summary
Implementation of six self-scanning turnstiles and a modern access solution, significantly improving stadium inflow and supporter experience.
Challenge
The stadium’s existing turnstiles and access system were outdated and required modernisation.
To minimise risk, the club chose to implement six self-scan turnstiles as a pilot before rolling out the solution across the entire stadium.
Key challenges included:
• A tight deadline: the pilot needed to go live before the start of the 2025/2026 season.
• Seamless integration with the existing system to maintain a single source of truth.
• Ensuring operational continuity during match days.
• Approach & Results
Approach
Scripe led the project through a structured and results-driven approach:
Selection and contracting of the vendor best aligned with functional, technical, and commercial requirements
• Full implementation of the access solution and self-scanning gates
• Thorough testing, data analysis, and structured user feedback collection
• Continuous optimisation and structured handover to operational teams
Results
• After six months of match-day usage, the results were clear:
40% faster supporter inflow
• Higher supporter satisfaction:
8.7 for self-scan users vs. 7.9 for traditional gates
• A top-5 ranking in the KNVB fanbase research report
• 50+ fewer stewards required per match due to self-scan functionality and proactive ticket validation feedback
